This is some of my latest and most favorite brand work for a local entrepreneur. He created a parent company AHMIR NASIR and lifestyle clothing brand called ARMEE. The goal was to create two brand logos that have similar look but can also stand alone.
The Mclub is not just a lounge. It’s an exclusive space designed to help guests cultivate new ideas. As lead art director I helped to develop the Mclub brand by designing the logo, signage, digital ads, and providing art direction on several architectural shoots.
Then, by working with production house Mod Op, we produced a video that tells the story of the guest experience. Featuring premium F&B offerings, modern design details, natural lighting, and connectivity. These branded elements work across several guest touchpoints to deliver on Marriott Hotel’s brand promise “Inspiring Brilliance.”
While at Kastle I’ve had the opportunity to elevate much of their consumer facing content.
The website was completely redesigned to have a modern aesthetic, with hero banner videos, intuitive navigation to help users easily find what they are looking for, and clear CTAs to help drive lead generation.
Video tells the story of their solutions and demonstrates product functionality.
Brand image assets provide an opportunity for ownable photography.
To promote TownePlace Suites “Something Borrowed” program, we partnered with Tastemade to create a cookbook and videos featuring the signature recipes, all prepared using the shared culinary amenities. Tastemade posts and Influencer content helped to generate buzz around the launch of the campaign.
I helped TownePlace Suites activate their partnership with Tastemade by serving as lead art director, helping to concept recipes, direct photography, and design the co-branded cookbook which acts as the centerpiece to the “Something Borrowed” program and Weber grills partnership.
Custom t-shirt and illustration for M Beta, a hotel testing product innovations and design prototypes with real time feedback from actual guests.
As lead art director during JW Marriott’s brand evolution, I had the opportunity to influence design for many of their key touch points. I helped refine the logo, update the brand guidelines, and refine the color palette, typography and on-property collateral.
I also directed a brand lifestyle photo and video shoot supporting their strategy of warmth, mindfulness, togetherness, and nourishment. Photography by Sidney Bensimon.
I’ve had the opportunity to lead several brand shoots, including brand lifestyle, food & beverage, and architectural imagery for Marriott Hotels and the Cleveland Clinic.
I find photoshoots to be some of my most favorite projects because I’m able to work with incredible photographers, stylists, talent, and production crews.
There is a different energy on shoot day and every shoot provides unique challenges. I thrive off this energy, orchestrating the team, and finding creative on-the-fly solutions if needed.
The end result is beautiful photography brands are proud to use for their websites, social channels, and campaigns.
I acted as lead art director for Marriott's bourbon campaign. Posters, banners, coasters, flight menus, social toolkit, and even a travel cocktail kit were designed to promote the campaign. Marriott Hotel’s social team evolved the campaign by creating a series of events called #BourbonBattles at key properties. The winners were awarded a charred oak barrel trophy. Cheers to that!
I teamed up with friend and fellow designer Carey Perlozzo to create illustrated key cards celebrating the opening of the 300th Towneplace Suites hotel. Tapping into the brand’s fun personality, we created illustrations showing various amenities the extended stay brand has to offer such as: free breakfast, full kitchens, pools, and fitness centers.
Last Call is a local D.C. dive bar next to Union Market. To draw people in we created an intentionally flickering neon sign, and co-branded Maker’s Mark mural with their tagline “Everyone’s beautiful at Last Call.”
Once inside bar staff can be seen wearing a subtly branded bandana with boozy illustrations, or an embroidered “I work here” patch.
Patrons may also purchase a variety of branded merchandise with custom illustrations.
I worked as lead designer and art director on Residence Inn’s breakfast program update. They wanted a way to showcase their new premium F+B offerings. By focusing on the unique ingredients with modern styling we were able to elevate the breakfast bar experience, and create a library of images for the brand.
Lousy Songs is a music licensing and royalties company that helps artists get their paychecks. This startup was looking for a brand logo and website that resonates with indie music artists.
I had fun riffing off the name, immersing myself in the life of musicians and songwriters. These logo options explore different levels of lousyness and concepts of music, mixed with a range of illustration and design styles.
HereStory strives to provide the most immersive, informative and memorable battlefield audio tours and film content. They launched their app and feature films a few years ago, but wanted to polish their brand presence with a new logo and branding.
HereStory needed a flexible brand system with a primary logo and battlefield specific logos. The brand should feel clean, authentic, and approachable for all ages.
HereStory’s app icon uses the flag icon for a simple, bold and memorable mark.
By updating the logo, typography, color palette and other UI elements HereStory’s app evolved into a more modern, functional, and memorable experience.
Westin was looking to brand it’s signature scent White Tea, and create shower pump bottles, bar soap and body lotion packaging.
Inspired by an apothecary aesthetic the design incorporates fragrance notes and ingredients on the label. This evokes a sense of curiosity, imprinting White Tea as a premium sensory experience. Simultaneously, the purposeful description of holistic ingredients ties back to the brand’s wellness pillar.
Stacking typographic and linear elements combined with a textural stamp element adds subtle texture, and interest to the branding.
JW Marriott partnered with Nora Tobin, a celebrity trainer, lifestyle coach and nutrition specialist, with a shared holistic approach to wellness. To introduce the partnership I designed a 20 minute workout poster, smoothie cards, and collateral. The designs are minimal yet uplifting to create a sense of modern luxury and mindfulness.
To promote Marriott Hotel’s partnership with TED I designed a series of icons for each TED Talk destination, including an animated video for their social channels.
